Howard E. Janzen
Commissioner Howard Janzen has served as CEO and Chairman for numerous communications operators and energy companies. He is currently the Executive Chairman of Cool Planet Energy Systems, which CNBC ranked as a “Top 25 Disruptor of 2014” alongside SpaceX and Uber. He has served as CEO for One Communications, the U.S.’s largest privately held multi-regional service provider for businesses; as President of Sprint Business Solutions leading a $12 billion global operation, as President of Sprint’s Global Markets Group responsible for $8 billion long distance business and as President, CEO and Chairman of Williams Communications Group where he led the company in completing a nearly $7 billion fiber optics network and completed the largest IPO in the telecom industry at that time with peak market capitalization of $30 billion. Commissioner Janzen also served in a number of leadership roles in Williams’ energy and natural gas pipeline businesses.
Commissioner Janzen serves on the Board of Directors of GTT, Sonus Networks, HeritX, Vocera Communications, Bye Aerospace, the Colorado School of Mines Foundation and on the Governor’s Science and Technology Council for the State of Oklahoma. He previously served as a Director of Anyware Mobile Solutions, Foro Energy Inc., Comsat International, iBEAM Broadcasting Corp, BOK Financial Corporation, Macrosolve, Exanet Ltd., CTC Communications Corporation and Williams Holdings of Delaware Inc.
